It is not the will of God that we should be as fruitless trees, as waterless clouds, or as savor-less salt, but that we should fulfill the highest functions of our Christian calling. ~ W. Graham Scroggie

Growing up as I did in the 40s, 50s, and 60s in post-WWII England, “living” in those days was a life of enjoyment and simple pleasures, despite all the destruction left around us from German bombing sorties which took years of re-development and government intervention to repair. Moving into a brand-new house in 1953 was the highlight of the younger years of my sister and I, if only for the fact that we both had our own rooms, AND an indoor toilet and bathroom. Luxury! The complications of PC-speech, discrimination, racial tensions, and endless government handouts, weren’t even a blip on the radar screens of the future as they are today; they simply weren’t part of life back then.

Brand new in 1953 ... still there in 2016, albeit with different owners...

Brand new in 1953 … still home to someone in 2016.

Clearly remembered from those days is that we and our neighbors never locked our doors even during night hours. There were no school buses back then and we neighborhood kids walked to school every day, which also took in a stretch of woodland and streams since we were in the West Pennine countryside – 20 miles away from war-torn Manchester. My walk was a long one – but never riddled with danger. Occasionally, one of my teachers who owned one of the few cars in town (passed on to him from his father) would stop on his way home and give me and whoever else a lift. Nowadays he’d likely be hounded and locked up as a child predator.

It was a calming era, full of well-mannered people with honest endeavor; a fulsome era; a simple life-acclaiming era. Most of all, faith guided our family and everyone else in the neighborhood and town. Preachers/priests or ministers did not live in luxury, drive expensive cars or owned big mansions. Doctors, would you believe, actually made home visits when someone was sick.

As for America, it all went wrong of course in 1963, when society allowed atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair, aided and abetted by the American Judiciary, to expunge God, prayers, and the Bible from schools and public life. The attempt to erase the presence of the living God caused the implosion of society to the sacrilege of where we are today. Remember quite a few years ago when Judge Roy Moore fought honorably to keep the 10 Commandments monument standing in front of the Alabama courthouse, only to lose the battle to the progressive socialists and have them remove it from the courthouse grounds.

Black-robed Executioners of 60 million innocents and counting……

God’s Law was, and still is, the very core of our society, despite humanity’s hubris in attempting to remove God from our everyday lives; but removing the symbol of that presence from the very foundational tenets of American Society created the vacuum that has since been filled with outrageous immorality, perverse sexual activity, destruction of the nuclear family, inglorious numbers of baby-killings (60 million and counting since 1973), the denigration and emasculation of fatherhood and, as a consequence, the onset of an almost “zombie-like society” that seemingly wanders around without any purpose whatsoever. (“Faith without works is dead” ~ James 2:17)

Consider this comparison of American values in 1956 versus today in 2016. These are my selective comparisons, full list is available from the link below…

1956 / 2016 Life Values Compared

In 1956, John Wayne, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe were some of the biggest stars in the entertainment world.
In 2016, our young people look up to “stars” like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

In 1956, Americans were watching I Love Lucy and The Ed Sullivan Show on television.
In 2016, the major television networks are offering us trashy shows such as Mistresses and Lucifer.

In 1956, gum chewing and talking in class were some of the major disciplinary problems in our schools.
In 2016, many of our public schools have been equipped with metal detectors because violence has gotten so far out of control.

In 1956, many Americans regularly left their cars and the front doors of their homes unlocked.
In 2016, many Americans live with steel bars on their windows and gun sales are at all-time record highs.

In 1956, about 5 percent of all babies in America were born to unmarried parents.
In 2016, more than 40 percent of all babies in America will be born to unmarried parents.

In 1956, millions of Americans dreamed of moving out to sunny California.
In 2016, millions of Americans are moving out of California and never plan to go back.

In 1956, television networks would not even show husbands and wives in bed together.
In 2016, there is so much demand for pornography that there are more than 4 million adult websites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

Which leads me to this…

New York Skyline 2016

Empire State Building April 2016…

For those that don’t know, this is an image of the Hindu goddess of death, time and destruction known as Kali, regaled in the multi-colored hue of the Empire State Building in Sin City. And next month a reproduction of the 48-foot-tall arch that stood in front of the Temple of Baal in Palmyra, Syria is going up in Times Square. For those who need an education on who Baal is, let me describe him from the book of Judges, Chapter 2 verses 10-23 which is just one of 33 mentions of Baal in the Bible: “And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.”

1956 New York Skyline at Christmas and Easter…

Compare that pic to this one in 1956 when the city of New York, including the Empire State Building, was not ashamed to give recognition, praise and thanksgiving to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob during both Christmas and Easter

That atheistic action of Madalyn Murray O’Hair outlined above, coupled with the behavior of the Supreme Court, together with its acolytes within the District and Circuit Court system upholding the immoral actions brought forth upon the Constitutional Republic, has consequences that run deep into the innards of the American psyche and is what led to our society being infected with a cancer – an incurably-suffering cancer – that spreads more and more by the day. If we as a society do not change our ways, we will of a surety implode by intent, with unimaginable destructive calamities. How so? Quite simply, because God is not mocked (Galatians 6:7-9)

A society that has no moral code or understanding of God’s ordinance will not, and cannot, stand or survive. It’s that simple.

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. ~ John Adams, address to the military, October 11th 1798
