I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process. You have tried hard. You’ve given it your all. No one can question your efforts.

Your coordinated and well-funded efforts to destroy my good name and destroy my family will not drag me out. The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out. You may defeat me in the final vote, but you’ll never get me to quit. Never. ~ Judge Brett Kavanaugh, September 27, 2018

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media: Far be it for me, someone who spent the better part of his life as your typical secular agnostic, to talk about God. But that was what I have been thinking about in the hours since I spent my day, as many of us did, watching the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing.

I guess it first hit me when Judge Kavanaugh, in the midst of his powerful and heartfelt opening statement, one few expected him to make, choked up, fighting back tears as he spoke of his ten-year old daughter’s desire to pray for Dr. Ford. I had trouble choking back my own and it dawned on me I was watching an event that I thought was political being transformed into a spiritual one.

Nothing was as expected. A real rape had taken place but it wasn’t the one everyone was talking about.  It was simultaneously a rape of Judge Kavanaugh, his family, and the American people themselves.  The collateral damage was Dr. Ford, her friends, and her family. And the perpetrator was the Democratic Party, principally their Judiciary Committee members, their ranking member, and the minority leader. [to be continued]

Never mind Thatcher (reference down below) this was Churchillian stuff. And there were even more affecting moments to come, with a moving description of how their ten-year-old daughter suggested to her sister that both should pray for their father’s accuser, how he bonded with his father by adopting the old man’s habit of keeping detailed calendar-diaries and retaining them forever: “Christmastime, we sat around and he would tell old stories. Old milestones, old weddings, old events from his calendars.”

There’s a silver lining to this Kavanaugh fiasco, and the Democrats have given it to us on nothing less than a silver platter. It rests on the fact that we don’t have a Two-Party System any longer – Simply put, we have one Uni-Party that merely changes its colors like a chameleon. Thomas Jefferson told us that ‘liberty’ is when the government fears the people and ‘tyranny’ is when the people fear the government.

As government by definition is a small minority of the population, those 21 personages sitting piously in their hearing chamber judgment chairs (particularly the 10 Democrats) play a very dangerous game. Over the past year we’ve witnessed delusional people from the Scalise shooting to the Las Vegas massacre to the incoherent Dr. Ford relentlessly attacking our nation. When politicians mix tyranny with delusional people, as was very evident on Thursday, it is an explosive recipe.

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media: It also dawned on me that whatever the pundits were saying had become irrelevant.  The American people were watching now — they would make up their own minds — and… I thought I’d never say this… God was looking down on the proceedings.

For the first time I had a visceral understanding of what Dennis Prager meant when he said God was involved in the American founding. (I’ve been reading his book on Exodus.)

And then Lindsey Graham said what so many of us were feeling, making the most magnificent, impassioned speech I have heard in Congress since Joseph Welch’s famous “Have you no shame, sir?” to Joe McCarthy.  No, scratch that. I was a little kid then and was told to despise McCarthy by my parents.  I could be all or partly wrong about that, but I’m not about Graham.  He hit a home run with the bases full in the seventh game of the World Series.

He was so good, in fact, that for a moment the Democrats seemed chastened. But it didn’t last long and pretty soon that ranking member, Ms. Feinstein, was up to her old tricks, doddering as she may have become, reading with her head down a litany of recent accusations against Kavanaugh so ludicrous even the New York Times wouldn’t print them. [to be continued]

The Democrats have created a terrible weapon of downright hatred. Judge Kavanaugh would need temperance beyond most human ability to not let the treatment he’s getting turn to cold, raw anger. On the positive side, we now have a tangible confirmation of both dignity and propriety in Judge Kavanaugh – Two supreme (pun intended!) qualities that we prize in a man, for which the Democrats have absolutely no use.

The left is so lost in anti-reason land that Kavanaugh’s full-throated denial of complicity in the Ford grope story is read as anger and self-righteousness and denial. We definitely have traversed into the Twilight Zone, as Kavanaugh rightly said, which is basically Romans 1 come to life. The Democrats have morphed into the party of personal destruction and if these people ever gain control of our government ever again, God help us!

The Kavanaughs never deserved any of this. Ever.

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media: But I can’t let go of my religious theme so quickly.  I am Jewish and trying, as many do as they grow older, to find consolation in my faith. I make no claims for any knowledge or depth in this.  I am very much a neophyte.  But nevertheless,  I was offended, even appalled, by the activities of my co-religionists Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Richard Blumenthal on the committee.  They have shamed our faith by disobeying  one of the keystones of the Ten Commandments, the Ninth: “Thou shall not bear false witness.” (Exodus 20:13)

I suspect Feinstein even knows this deep down.  But I’m still not sure I want to know about what role she did or didn’t play in hiding or revealing Dr. Ford’s accusations. It’s all too nauseating and depressing.  Whatever it is, it doesn’t look good and does no service to women or anybody else, least of all Dr. Ford.

That Richard Blumenthal – a man who lied about his military service – would dare begin interrogating Judge Kavanaugh by asking him to translate the watchword of Roman law Falsus in uno falsus in omnibus (False in one thing, false in everything) was such eye-rolling arrogance and self-delusion it made you wonder what they have in the drinking water in the state of Connecticut.

But never mind.  All is well.  As I finished typing this, I reached into my wallet, curious to see if the words “IN GOD WE TRUST” were still printed on our money.  (Frankly, I hadn’t bothered to look closely for a long time.)

Thankfully, they were. [end]

The fact of the matter (and frequently overlooked) is that much of the top echelon of the U.S. government made up of all top Democrats and some RINOs, have been complicit in very serious crimes against the Constitutional Republic over the last ten to twenty years, all of which has been conveniently swept under the rug.

Covering for the fraud that Obama was and still is; Fast & Furious; covering up and lying to We the People about Benghazi and the abject failure to protect our brave people; multiple deliberate lapses causing serious damage to our national security; the whole plot to keep Donald J. Trump from becoming President.

And the most specious of all – when he was duly elected by a majority of the people in nothing short of a landslide victory – plotting behind the curtains to bring him down by any means necessary using organs of the government itself and numerous outside influences. Collusion there was indeed – and it definitely didn’t include the Russians. It was all very much in the infernal Deep State Big Fake News Media and Government Bureaucracies.

But God.

There are probably a hundred people including all top Democrats and top officers of most cabinet departments who would rate prison sentences of a decade or more should any honest and thorough investigations be conducted.

Have faith Patriots.

There are things going down right now just out of view that will change everything. There’s a ‘shaking’ going on. We are all being tried for our faithfulness through the toughest of times. Now is no time to wimp out. Or as the Iron Lady Maggie Thatcher long expressed it to President Reagan ‘Don’t go wobbly on us now, Ronnie’. Stay the course, keep the faith, when the going gets tough, etc. – three cliches in a row, I get it, but the fourth says it all, inspired by the ‘you’ll never get me to quit. Never’ from Judge Kavanaugh above:

That speech was momentous. It was magnificent. We will NEVER surrender.

But God.
