Lydia as ever, from the comments thread: Rome may have fallen due to decadence and incompetence, but there is speculation that lead poisoning of the water may also have been a factor. Lead poisoning is known to reduce intellectual capacity. Today our water is poisoned as well, with toxic chemicals and pharmaceutical waste from all the drugs taken by Americans. The craziest people seem to live in cities with municipal water treatment plants, while most rural areas still rely on private wells (although some groundwater has been poisoned as well).

One important point made here is that Republicans (when they show some backbone) will criticize/denounce Democrat leadership. The Democrats will vilify and persecute any conservative, high or low. They make a point of targeting American citizens, not just leadership. They use police state powers to imprison citizens who disagree with their idealogy. They label them as extremists (or racists, homophobes, supremacists, etc) who therefore are guilty until proven innocent.

Nothing could illustrate this more starkly than J6 defendants being convicted and locked up for misdemeanors like “parading,” or pastors subjected to FBI raids for peacefully opposing abortion. There is no punishment allowed for the 2020 rioters who burned cities. In fact NYC is rewarding BLM rioters who were arrested with $10,000 in taxpayer compensation.

The old idiom, “There must be something in the water” just might be the reality that the decline of the Roman Empire and America have in common. [end]

Alan Stevens: Why is it that so many people say and do stupid things in the last two years? Brain damage caused by the shots is why. It begins with brain fog then irritability followed by irrational behavior as the brain is slowly damaged by the synthetic spike protein in the shot. The shape of the spike protein abrades the inner lining (endothelium) of the blood vessels, inflaming them and limiting blood flow leading to brain fog, irritability and irrational behavior over a period of about a year. The shots probably have mind control and witchcraft potions in them as well. That would mean that they are loaded with demons. Bill 53: I don’t know the moment I lost any patriotism I had for the American Empire. It might have been the invention of the birth control pill or the implementation of the Immigration Act of 1965 if I had been old enough to have understood what the consequence’s of both would be. But the “legalized” mass murder of unborn children beginning in 1970 (Ca. and NY) definitely made me question my loyalty to this country even at the age of 12. Sodomite marriage though sealed the deal. There’s NO middle ground on any of these issues. Continued from Invasions: In the USA, we now see a collapse at the southern border. The seeming bipartisan fence that was erected in 2006 in retrospect appears to be a sham. The fence was allowed to fall into disrepair and was inadequate for deterring illegal access. In 2016, presidential candidate Donald Trump called out the do-nothing Congress and both the previous Republican and Democrat administrations for allowing this “invasion” of illegals to happen.

Asherpat: According to Wikipedia, the US isn’t a “bona-fide” empire. Empires are almost universally evil (I can’t think of empires that are not, but maybe there were) not because they are made of “several territories and peoples” and not even because they were “created by conquest” (because at least now, they are benevolent) but they are evil because for a bona-fide empire to survive and not disintegrate, a bona-fide empire must practice “imperialism” (makes sense) which is defined as “maintaining and extending power over foreign nations…hard power…” which the US does not. And no, Iraq, Afghanistan were NOT imperialistic expansions because the US never intended to stay there, and the facts are that it has not.

Continued Invasions: As part of his Make America Great Again agenda, (President Trump) proposed and then, after being elected, began to build a wall with accompanying surveillance system that was better than anything that had previously been attempted on our southern border. Under Trump, the USA maintained its overall liberal immigration policy, which admitted about one million persons a year, but had to limit immigration because of the need for proper vetting of applicants regarding criminal history, health, work skills, and goals for making that immigration.
