Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. ~ Psalm 109:1-3

Ethics, morality and the Constitution. The time is getting close to when Thomas Jefferson’s allegorical ‘Tree of Liberty’ will need to be refreshed and renewed, and Constitutional sanity restored into the Halls of Congress. More and more it seems that the corrupt Uniparty ruling elites who are ensconced in the Deep State that is the storied swamp of Washington DC politics, are literally staging a coup by undermining the legitimate elections of a free people. And that would be their interference into the dramatically-staged Kabuki Theater of the Judge Roy Moore affair.

The plain fact of the matter (as I have written about extensively in the past week or so) is that the vaunted Senate has zero ability to expel someone for rumors, innuendo, or hearsay, since they are bound by the ethics of constitutional authority to the dictum of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ on current or manufactured crimes, which they can’t (or shouldn’t be able to) make happen. Period.

Larry Thornberry chimed in three or four days ago within the pages of The American Spectator, lecturing those Senate members who ought to at least have a modicum of Constitutional republican ethics, since the impression We the People have is that most of them have made lifelong careers out of basically wandering around the Senate floor looking for something to do. They could do worse than polishing up their understanding of the Constitution.

LARRY THORNBERRY UNLEASHED: “Living up to US Senate Standards”…

Things are looking bleak for Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore .. In a reasonable political world, the decision on whether Roy Moore should represent Alabama in the United States Senate would be taken in only one place. That place is not Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office. It’s not the editorial offices of the Washington Post.

That decision should be made by voters in Alabama.

We have something called an election on the 12th of next month. Mitch may have heard of these .. Establishment Republicans fret, likely with some justification, that having Moore in the Senate would hurt their party’s already tattered brand. So they’re considering, or at least talking about, expelling Moore if voters in the Heart of Dixie should decide Moore is their man.

At which point I interject: Unless Judge Moore is convicted of some crime (which is highly unlikely given the Statute of Limitations), it is none of anyone else’s business. If a pure sex life were the test, the United States would never have tolerated Warren G. Harding, FDR, Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush, nor William Jefferson Clinton, not one of whom honored their marriage vows. If the test is advanced to cover sobriety, financial probity and ethics, who would remain?

As the old adage expresses it – “Purity is for saints only.”

Thornberry goes on: There probably would be a price to the GOP in having Moore in the Senate. There would also be a big price in expelling him, adding fuel to the wide-spread perception that the establishment of both major parties (not as major as they used to be) hold ordinary voters in contempt. (It’s more than just a perception — they do.) … Colorado Senator Cory Gardner, head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, came up with this howler …

He says if Moore is elected, “the Senate should vote to expel him because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate.” Wow. I’ll wait here while you gain control …

If Roy Moore did what he’s accused of, shame on him. But Alabama voters can decide if any shame he may be due is sufficient to disqualify him from representing Alabama in the Senate. And for those who, against prudent advice, wish to ham it up about the “ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate,” I have just two words for you:

Ted Kennedy.[end]

Yup, the same ‘Lyin’ Lion of the Senate’ Ted Chappaquiddick Kennedy, to which We the People can add: Chris Dodd; Anthony Weiner; Robert Menendez; Al Franken; Gerry Studds; Barney Frank; Daniel Inouye; John Edwards; Eliot Spitzer; Mark Foley; Bob Packwood …. the list just goes on and on and on.

Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul. ~ Psalm 109:29-31
