The original request shall remain anonymous, since all will be revealed in due course, but nevertheless, a little bit of research here and there and – voila! – a tidy compendium of long-ago “doings” in the form of a little birthday remembrance for one of the Hurst’s today…
The biblical reference in one of my favorite Psalms (ie 90:4) that “a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night” reminds of the fleeting experience of life. Peter also raises the specter in his second letter (3:8) “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
Now I’m not advocating that 24 years is anywhere near the aforesaid “thousand” but nevertheless – POOF! – and it is gone; thank God we have visual reminders to keep us in focus.
