Pic only, video version below…

Tom Fletcher is best described from his Wikipedia profile:

Among his accomplishments he is one of the lead vocalists and guitarists of English pop rock band McFly,[1] in addition to being the group’s founder and principal songwriter. Additionally, Fletcher has a YouTube page through which he has a habit of producing wholesome videos of life’s great moments, which inevitably always go viral around the globe. His latest (the story of which is the subject of today’s SONday blog) hit one of the BBC morning shows this past week, and is currently listing around 5 million hits…. well, let me go on to explain.

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE
When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy or girl.
~ Sir James Matthew Barrie

On average, an infant laughs nearly two hundred times a day; an adult, only twelve. Maybe they are laughing so much because they are looking at us. To be able to preserve joyousness of heart and yet to be concerned in thought: in this way we can determine good fortune and misfortune on earth, and bring to perfection everything on earth. ~ I Ching

Laughter connects you with people. It’s almost impossible to maintain any kind of distance or any sense of social hierarchy when you’re just howling with laughter. Laughter is a force for democracy. ~  John Cleese

I was irrevocably betrothed to laughter, the sound of which has always seemed to me to be the most civilized music in the world.  ~ Peter Ustinov

I have always felt that laughter in the face of reality is probably the finest sound there is and will last until the day when the game is called on account of darkness. In this world, a good time to laugh is any time you can. ~ Linda Ellerbee

Humanity has unquestionably one really effective weapon—laughter. Power, money, persuasion, supplication, persecution—these can lift at a colossal humbug—push it a little—weaken it a little, century by century, but only laughter can blow it to rags and atoms at a blast. Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand. ~ Mark Twain

Now, let us go to the beginning, otherwise known as the “back story” …

I’ve been to quite a few weddings in my life (some, quite spectacular) but I believe that the above “speech” by Tom, is the very best I’ve ever heard or witnessed, and it was obvious that all those gathered in that reception room, were well taken by it as well. On then, to Chapters Two and Three (hint, let the vid keep running at the end of the first part)…

So there you have it. The secret of living a healthy, positive, wholesome lifestyle, even during times of trouble when the whole world seems to be crashing in, on, and round about you. The Bible has lots and lots to say about a “merry heart” such as in the following:

Genesis 21:6: “And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.”

Job 8:20-21: “Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.”

Psalm 126:2: “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.”

Proverbs 17:22: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

Jesus Christ himself declared through John 16:33 .. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Back in, oh round about 2007, when he was going through his own personal tribulations, Rick Warren wrote:

Did you know that people who laugh live longer? It’s true. Proverbs 14:30 says, “A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life.” (TLB)

Humor is an amazing thing. It’s a tension dissolver. It’s an antidote to anxiety. It’s just like a tranquilizer, but without any troublesome side effects. And it’s free! You don’t even need a prescription. Laughter is life’s shock absorber. If you want to have less stress in your life, learn to laugh at your circumstances. Somehow, you must find the fun in the frustrating.

So learn to laugh. If you can laugh at it, you can live with it. And besides, if you learn to laugh at your troubles, you’ll never run out of anything to laugh at! Life is full of funny situations. Will Rogers once said, “I don’t know any jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts.” Proverbs 17:22 says, “Being cheerful keeps you healthy.” (GNB) We all need to develop a sense of humor.

So how about we all go back to the Little Laughing Guy, Buzz, and laugh along with him. After all, I defy anyone not to watch this 2-minute clip and not feel better for the want of watching it… Laugh, and the world laughs with you!

Thank you Tom and little Buzz, you both (along with Mom) make the world a better place to live in. And may God forever shine his loving light of goodness upon you all. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen. Maranatha. In Him! God is laughing with us!
