Ben Stein, American Spectator, and so throughout: He was attacked from day one, from the first moment, by dishonest officials of the FBI, the CIA, and other “law enforcement” agencies, for a series of misdeeds ranging from bribery to treason to rape. None of them really happened.

Something about him, I will never know what, antagonized the powers that be in a way that no other president did except my friend, Richard M. Nixon. But in so doing, as a target, he showed anyone who cared to have eyes that there was indeed a “deep state” that operated far beyond the supervision of the voters or the officials they elect.

Coy, American Thinker, and so throughout: I sure wish I had not learned so much over the last five years.  In retrospect, five short years ago seems almost like Mayberry.  Here are some important things that I didn’t know five years ago or now. There actually is a deep state and they really do not honor the election results nor the will of the people. There really appear to be lawless elements within the upper echelons of the FBI, CIA, and NSA who are not accountable for their crimes and are thus above the law.

The fourth branch of government, the bureaucracy, really is unaccountable to the “unwashed masses.” Many of our top military command, for instance, along with many operating within and beyond the covert Military Industrial Complex, don’t always hate wars; there is after all, a lot of money and many promotions to be made during a time of war. The last 4 years saw no new wars and even troops coming home. For some, of course that is bad for business. 1984 and Animal Farm are no longer works of fiction, but prophecies.

George Orwell was righter than Nostradamus. The news media centers of New York City and Washington, DC are not neutral arbitrators of the truth, but uncomfortably resemble TASS and Pravda from the Soviet Union days. The old robber barons like Rockefeller, Carnegie and JP Morgan are starting to look a whole lot better compared to the new Robber Barons like Dorsey, Zuckerberg, and Bezos. [-]

Ben Stein. Trump stood up to them and did not back down. I don’t think it would have mattered if he had not stood up to them. He did great things: 1) rearmed the military, which had been left to rot by his predecessors; 2) built most of a wall to protect this country from illegal immigrants, while greatly welcoming the legal immigrants who make the country grow and prosper; 3) morally rearmed the nation’s police forces — who are now rapidly being crucified on a cross of phony “systemic racism”; 4) moved the United States Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, as the Bible of Jews and Christians demands, and which no other president had possessed; 5) he fought mightily against opioid addiction; 6) he treated Americans equally regardless of race or sexual orientation; 7) he made more progress towards a comprehensive Middle East peace settlement than every other president before him; 8) he refused to stand still for Iranian lies and threats; 9) and he calmed the turbid waters of the sea around Korea. Andrew W. Coy: The United States Supreme Court would actually refuse to hear a legitimate case because they were scared and frightened of violence: 1) The left insist on a conflating equivalency by equating evangelical Christians with White supremacists. This should terrify the Christian community. 2) Words such as mom, dad, aunt, uncle, brother and sister are now not words of love and respect; but are considered politically incorrect verbiage in Congress. 3) Censorship, the rise of cancel culture, and becoming a nonperson comes from the left, not the right. 4) Violence from The Left is regarded as free speech and noble, while violence from the right is classified as sedition and felonious by powerful institutions. 5) It really is not Republicans vs. Democrats, but globalists vs. nationalists. 6) Fences and barriers are a good thing for our nation’s capital but somehow a bad thing for our nation’s borders. 7) Our Founding Fathers of yesteryear would be called “domestic terrorists” by some today. 8) Presidential elections really can be stolen by corrupting just a handful of precincts in just a handful of states. 9) Calling into question the validity of the 2016 presidential election is patriotic, while calling into question the validity of the 2020 presidential election is treasonous.

The good old days of just five short years ago sure do make us nostalgic for Mayberry. Trouble is, we now must decide, how are we to respond with what we now know. Sigh. [end]

Ben Stein: He told the world that America was tired of being pushed around. He did not start one single war of any kind at home or abroad, and for all of that, he was crucified on another phony cross, this one of incitement to riot and insurrection. Like all of the other charges against him, they were fiction. The hammering of the nails can still be heard and seen in the nation’s media.

And still he stood tall. He did not seek to whip up race hatred and start a second Civil War, like the Democrats. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. [end]
