Jesus on Love
There is only one love that loves unconditionally — the love of GOD. You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments. ~ Matthew 22:37-40
Paul from I Corinthians 13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
The Eight Aspects of Love
Patient– showing self-control. Kind– giving attention, appreciation, and encouragement. Humble– being authentic without pretense and arrogance.
Respectful– treating others as important people. Selfless– meeting the needs of others. Forgiving– giving up resentment when wronged. Honest – being free from deception. Committed– Sticking to your choices.
The Nine Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-26
Note that Love is first and foremost!
Love; Joy; Peace; Longsuffering; Gentleness; Goodness; Faith; Meekness; Temperance.
And as Paul ends his commentary – “against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

I love your Valentine. It is still every bit as special, even though I am just now seeing it. I am alone this morning in the quiet, overcast country. As I sit enjoying every word you write and feast my eyes on the photos, I smile. The forest birds twittering, the occasional bark of dogs and the wind through the treetops is all there is.
Thank you, Dennis. You are special. Happy belated Valentines.
